How to create a portrait – free live creative sessions Creation Station TV

Discover how to create a portrait. We ran Junior Portrait of the year seasons for SKY Arts and we shared a range of top tips to help children of all ages learn to draw a portrait.

You will need;

Paper, pencil, a ruler and if you have a mirror that will be helpful too!

Draw an oval and divide the oval into sections as per the video.

Draw the eyes at the midway point of the oval. Add the other features onto the oval and notice where the features all sit on the sections of the oval.

Experiment by using different materials, Once you have the structure in place you can start to add shading, colour and textures.  Enjoy!
