Children’s Activities Week 2025: Inclusive Creativity with The Creation Station

Children's Activity Week and Creation Station

Children’s Activities Week 2025 is just around the corner, and we’re so excited to be part of this nationwide celebration of fun, learning, and inclusive activities for children.

Running from 12th–18th May, this annual event raises money for Caudwell Children, a wonderful charity that supports disabled children and their families across the UK. The theme this year is #StandUpForSEND, highlighting the incredible resilience of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

At The Creation Station, we believe every child deserves to be celebrated, supported, and inspired—and we’re ready to fill our creative sessions with colour, kindness and connection.

What Is Children’s Activities Week?

Children’s Activities Week is an annual UK-wide event involving thousands of children’s activity providers who come together to raise awareness and vital funds for children with additional needs. It’s run in partnership with What’s On 4 Kids and supports Caudwell Children in providing essential equipment, therapy, and support services.

What’s Happening at The Creation Station?

All week long, our award-winning creative classes will be packed with inclusive activities designed to celebrate differences and promote kindness, communication, and creativity.

🌈 Creative Communication and Sensory Fun

In our Create Club sessions, children will talk about how we’re all different—and how some people may need a little extra time or support to thrive.

We’ll be introducing children to Makaton signs—a simple and inclusive way to communicate using speech, symbols, and gestures. Children will learn signs for words like create, fun, music, and play, supporting SEND awareness in a fun, hands-on way.

They’ll also craft their very own DIY sensory toys, such as paper squishies, balloon stress balls, and beaded fidget keyrings. These are brilliant calming tools that support emotional regulation, focus and creativity for all children—especially those with autism or ADHD.

Sensory Play for Babies and Toddlers

Our Baby Discover and Little Explorer classes will be exploring the five senses through gloop play, music, and textured crafts. We’ll be singing the 5 Senses Song and using Makaton signs to help even our youngest artists explore the world around them in an inclusive, engaging way.

How You Can Help

We’re inviting all our creative families to get involved and help us raise money for Caudwell Children. Every penny really does make a difference!

💜 £5 could provide sensory equipment for a child’s therapy
💜 £10 could fund a short break activity to build friendships
💜 £20 could support workshops for children with autism

We know times are tough for everyone so just whatever amount you can manage is massively appreciated and 100% of it will go to supporting the children that need it most.  Thank you!
