The Creation Station nominated for major Social Enterprise franchising award

The Creation Station has been shortlisted for the Social Enterprise accolade at the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards, to be held at the Vox, Birmingham, on June 27.

Sarah Cressall, founder of The Creation Station said “The idea for The Creation Station developed when I had my three boys back in 2002. I wanted to give them opportunities to spark their curiosity, create their own journey of exploration, discovery and development. Life isn’t a sausage machine, we are all unique and I wanted my kids and others to be able to unleash the amazing wonder within.

Sadly, creativity is being squeezed out of education and childhood, and yet it provides so many essential benefits.

Our programmes are carefully developed to help children develop self confidence in their own ideas, learn how to problem solve when things don’t go to plan and understand that it’s ok to be different.

Engaging in creative activities develops a wide range of skills at different ages and stages. From hand and eye co-ordination, communication and concentrations, to logic, thinking, social skills and much more.

Overarching this is the critical benefit of wellbeing. Our kids are under so much pressure these days, that providing mindful, interactive and fun activities help to support children to be happy with their amazing self.

We’ve a fantastic team of over one hundred exceptional franchise owners, who share our values of making positive differences through creativity.  Together we’ve inspired over a million children and adults in our award-winning classes, parties and events. Customers have rated are experiences 5-Star and it’s wonderful to see the absolute joy and sparkle in kids faces during our creative fun activities.”

The awards evening is the flagship event in the franchising calendar and getting a nomination in itself is a major achievement, proving the business works ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff, fighting off many other companies vying for the accolade.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchising Association (bfa), congratulated The Creation Station:

“In an increasingly digital age, where children spend much of their time on electronic devices, Creation Station is allowing children to use the more creative aspects of their brain and free up their imagination through arts and crafts.”

Andrew Brattesani, Head of Franchising, HSBC, said:

“Passionate about nurturing creativity in young people, Creation Station manages to mix education with fun, which is a very difficult balance.”

“By focusing on key skills, Creation Station is enabling thousands of children to use their creative licence to full effect.”

The Creation Station will go face-to-face against two other franchise units in June, one that bring healthy microwaveable meals to your door, and another that helps children learn to swim.
