Between 15th February to 26th of February senior citizens and children can join in free online ‘Grand Activities’ fun. The art and crafts sessions will involve joining an online hosted class and creating a collaged portrait. Artwork will be uploaded to www.OurCreativeFace.com as part of the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS attempt to create the largest online gallery of collaged portraits. The items used in the workshops will include recycling everyday items from the home along with a few sparks of imagination!
We know that lockdown has been so hard on our senior citizens and on families who have been separated. We’ve seen so many benefits from our intergenerational activities so we want to bring some shared smiles and fun to our local communities. Our free workshops aim to help all ages connect through simple hands-on activities and to enjoy some fun together” says Sarah Cressall, founder and CEO of The Creation Station.
The Grand Activities workshops are designed for individuals, organisations and groups to get involved. The Creation Station are welcoming enquiries from those who manage care homes or provide support for senior citizens. Enquiries are also welcome from schools, activity groups, nurseries, special needs groups and those who work with and support children.
Attendees will receive online joining details along with a suggested list of items to gather before the event. Craft packs with items in will also be available to purchase on request.
You can get involved as an individual and book directly onto the class via the website www.thecreationstation.co.uk. If you have a group that would like to be involved you can also contact your local Creation Station leader to organise this. If you have multiple locations or groups please email [email protected] or call the creative activity hotline on 01395 239700
