SLIME! A craze that’s taken over the nation. The BBC recently reported concerns of high levels of Boric acid in “make your own slime” kits.
At Creation Station we ensure that our activities are risk assessed and our products are fit for purpose with the appropriate safety data sheets. We ensure all our leaders are DBS checked, health and safety trained and first aid trained.
Before launching our Slime sessions we ensured we were within the European safety levels and were taking all the measures necessary to make sure the slime was fun and safe for use.
We are now sharing the recipe we have had professionally tested to give all parents peace of mind. Using The Creation Station safety tested slime recipe you can rest assured that as well as being fun, it’s also educational and above all safe.
Here’s our slime, featuring our amazing creative kid superstar, Amari!
Our slime recipe has been professionally analysed and checked to be within the European limits of 300gms of boron per kilograms. It’s fun and safe for little hands and perfect for experimenting with glitter, sequins, and gems.
The Creation Station Slime recipe:
You’ll need;
1/2 a cup (125ml) of PVA Glue.
1/2 a cup (125ml) of water.
A squirt of paint – optional but pretty.
1/2 a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda.
1 whole tablespoon of saline solution.
Step-by-step:
Step 1: Start by mixing your PVA glue and water. Give it a good stir to make sure it’s thoroughly combined.
Step 2: Add a squirt of paint if you’d like – we’d recommend it!
Step 3: Add the bicarbornate of soda – to make oozier slime start with ¼ teaspoon and work up to the full ½ teaspoon (like an experiment).
Step 4: Add 1 tablespoon of the saline solution to the mix. Mix really well and once it starts to come together and pull away from the sides of the container, spend a few minutes kneading and working the slime until it is a lovely consistency.
What to do if you get slime on your clothes? We know it’s going to happen, it happens to us all.
If you get slime on your clothes, don’t panic, simply soak it in white vinegar (the sooner the better really) give it a scrub, and then wash & dry the item as normal.
