Demand For Creative Childcare Increases

We have been assessing the impact of the current financial crisis on the children’s activities that our Creation Station franchise partners deliver.

What we have seen was very interesting…

• Our holiday camps have been filled this summer.
• Enquiries for our after-school clubs are on the increase

We’ve been looking at why this is.

The reasons seem to be for increased demand for Holiday camps are as follows: 

• The pressure of the financial crisis, more parents are working and therefore need childcare cover. 
• There are lots of job available so people are able to find work. Job vacancies increased from March to May 2022 to a new record of 1,300,000; an increase of 20,000 from the previous quarter.(Ref Office for National Statistics). 
• Holiday camps often have a big focus on sport. For those children not into sport, they really enjoy a creative holiday camp experience 
• Access to funding to run holiday camps has provided opportunities for more children to access quality camps.

The reasons for increased demand for After School Clubs are as follows: 

• The typical working day makes school pickup times difficult, After school clubs, demand is going through the roof.
• There is lots of sports provision but very little for children who prefer to do something creative.
• Schools recognise the lack of creative opportunities for children and welcome our award-winning creative provision

None of us know what the future holds, but based on what we are seeing, the demand for quality childcare with creative activities is here to stay for quite a long time.
