Kayleigh Webb has won the Best Can Do Attitude award for her amazing goal-setting focus and smashing her goals.
Within Kayleigh’s first term of launching her own Creation Station franchise, Kayleigh secured four after-school clubs and is inspiring hundreds of children in the Bracknell area.
Kayleigh said “The goals I have set myself for this year would have scared me before this venture but I know that I am more than capable of achieving every one of them! The confidence running my Creation Statio has given me gives me the attitude I want my children to grow up seeing – they can do anything they put their minds to. When I tell people what I do I proudly say ‘I own my own Creation Station business’ and I am doing so well”.
We are so proud of Kayleigh and everything she is achieving
Kayleigh Webb and Sarah Cressall – Founder of Creation Station
We asked Kayleigh a few questions about her journey of running her own Creation Station. Here’s Kayleigh’s story:
What is your background
I was born in South Africa and moved to the UK with my husband in 2016. I trained to be an Early Years teacher and Primary School teacher in 2011 and have been teaching ever since. I am married to my wonderful husband Bruce. We have 2 beautiful children together, Joshua and Jodie. they were two and a half and seven months when I launched. They are so proud that I am doing something I have always wanted to do and they have supported me so much during this process.
Why did you want to work for yourself?
I like the idea of having more time with my family and not having to ask for leave when I need to take it. I am my own boss and enjoy the fact that all my hard work I put into my business will be for me and my family.
As a teacher we have been trained to place children into a box and if they don’t quite fit into that box there is something wrong. As I have gotten older I realise this is not true. Every child is different and we should encourage them to be different. Creativity is an excellent way for children to show their uniqueness and I feel The Creation Station has an amazing ethos around creativity and imagination.
Why did you decide to invest in a franchised business?
I liked the support that a franchised business offers and the feeling of family I get from all the lovely ladies who run it.
What attracted you to The Creation Station?
I love arts and crafts and have always been creative. I thoroughly enjoy painting and drawing and wanted to look for a class to send my little boy to so he could experience creative activities. I googled craft classes in my area and The Creation Station came up. I was blown away by the amazing website. I typed in Bracknell and a message popped up saying franchise opportunity. I was so excited as it has everything I wanted to and needed and I haven’t looked back since.
How did you finance your business?
I could have got a business loan but my family have helped me finance my business.
What town areas do you cover?
I am delighted inspired the community in Bracknell and the smaller areas; Priestwood, Wildridings, Martins Heron, Easthampstead and Jennett’s Park.
What were the barriers you had to overcome before you made the decision to invest?
I was nervous about whether this would work for me. I hadn’t worked in the last 2.5 years with bringing up our two little ones. We were living on one income so we didn’t have that kind of money to spend. I was also nervous of it not working out. The business includes over ten income streams so I now know there are lots of opportunities to grow and scale your business around your own financial and personal needs. There is huge scope and potential to grow, We arnet just preschool classes – we provide a wide range of activities for all ages and that really works for me.
What were your feelings when you attended the online Discovery Event?
It was amazing! All my doubts were put to rest and I was so excited to join and get started.
What did you think about the training and what do you think about the support?
The support and training have been incredible. All the ladies have been so welcoming and happy to help with whatever you may need however silly it may be.
What are you most looking forward to with regards to running your own Creation Station?
Showing children how much fun being creative is and allowing their imagination to run free. I too hope they show what they experience in my class through all activities of their day.
The support and family feel I get is amazing. I look forward to many years being part of the team.”
