"Hello, I’m Janey and I run The Creation Station in Bristol.
I never know what to do with the countless plastic milk containers we get through each week.
How about making use of them this Easter by turning them into Easter Egg baskets? I don’t know about you but Easter Egg hunts are the highlight of my little girl’s Easter celebrations and not being able to go on one this year for a second year running with her friends has been very disappointing.
I’ve devised a great way to keep the spirit of the egg hunt alive and an excuse to visit all her friends to give them their very own basket filled with whatever treats they love.
Plus, it’s all made from recycled items (but not the Chocolate eggs of course!).
What you’ll need to find:
- A 4 pint plastic milk bottle (empty and clean 😉)
- Coloured paper or old colourful magazines and leaflets
- Permanent marker pens
- Stapler or split pins
- Scissors
- Glue
Method:
- Using scissors cut the milk bottle in half using the label sticker line as a guide. This is your basket.
- Next cut a 2cm wide strip from the top half of the bottle. This is your handle.
- Trim the 2cm strip to a good handle for the basket.
- Staple or use split pins to fasten each end of the strip to the basket to form a handle
- Decorate the outside of the basket using permanent markers or for a more striking look cut out flowers, eggs and other Easter-themed designs from your magazines and stick them to the outside of your basket.
- Shred the coloured paper or magazines and place them into the basket to create a nest for the eggs.

Have a wonderful Easter, from your Creation Station creative crew.
