How To Make Paper Planes

Be inspired by Wendy and Theo’s ideas.

What You Will Need:

  • A sheet of A4 white paper
  • Felt tip pens
  • Paint sticks or paint

Here are some ideas to create your own paper planes.

A Dart Plane:

  1. Fold the paper vertically in half and then open. You will be left with a line running down the centre of your paper.
  2. Fold down the top left corner of your paper, lining up with your centre line and repeat for the top right corner of your paper.
  3. Now fold in half making sure the flaps are on the outside.
  4. Fold both flaps down to the bottom.
  5. Now fold both wings down and your dart plane is ready for take off.

A Jet Plane:

  1. Fold the paper horizontally in half and then open. You will be left with a line running down the centre of your paper.
  2. Fold down the top left corner of your paper, lining up with your centre line, repeat for the top right corner of your paper.
  3. Fold your bottom left corner to the line and repeat for the right corner.
  4. Fold the bottom of the paper to make a triangle.
  5. Fold up the bottom left corner, repeat for the right corner to make a square.
  6. Turn over the paper and have the flaps to the right. Fold the top and bottom triangles to the centre and then fold in half.
  7. Fold the corners up to make a wing.
  8. Open up the model and push up the back triangle to create the tail. Chocks away!

Once you’ve made your plane use either felt tip pens or paint sticks to decorate any design you like!
