Day 20: Create Your Own Mini Book – All About YOU! – Children’s Creative Summer Challenge Copy

Welcome to Day 20 of The Children’s Creative Summer Challenge – the final day of our creative adventure! Over the last 20 days, we’ve painted, glued, built, and imagined our way through so many fun crafts. Today, we’re finishing the challenge in the most special way possible: by creating a mini book all about YOU.

This is your chance to celebrate what makes you unique – your favourite things, your dreams, your superpowers, and even your quirks. Your mini book can be as colourful, sparkly, or imaginative as you like, because no one else in the world is exactly like you.

So grab your craft supplies, and let’s bring your story to life.

Craft supplies ready to make a personalised mini book

What You’ll Need:

  • A few sheets of paper or thin card
  • Scissors
  • Coloured pens, pencils, or markers
  • Glue or tape
  • Optional: stickers, washi tape, or glitter for decoration

How to Make Your Mini Book Step by Step

Fold your pages – Take your paper and fold each sheet into a small booklet shape. If you’d like more pages, simply fold extra sheets and layer them together.

Make a cover – Use a piece of card or decorated paper as your front and back cover. This makes your mini book strong and gives you space for a fun title like “All About Me!” or “My Superpowers.”

Add your sections – Create a few pages to explore different parts of you. For example:

    • My Favourites – foods, colours, animals, hobbies

    • My Dreams – what you’d love to do, places you’d like to visit

    • My Superpowers – kindness, bravery, creativity, or even magical powers you’d love to have

    • My Family & Friends – the people (and pets!) who make your life special

    • My Future Self – draw or write about who you want to be when you grow up

Decorate each page – Add drawings, doodles, stickers, or little treasures that show off your personality.

Finish with a flourish – Add your name and the date on the last page – so you’ll always remember when you made your first mini book.

Why This Craft is Special

Unlike any of the other makes in our challenge, this mini book is all about celebrating YOU. It’s a brilliant way to:

  • Build self-confidence by recognising what makes you unique

  • Practice writing, drawing, and storytelling skills

  • Create a keepsake you can treasure and look back on for years to come

  • Share your personality in a fun and creative way
