Doreen and her team have already gained the Franchise Of The Month award for growing their business so quickly and successfully. They are now looking at taking on the new fixed-premise franchise opportunity: The Creation Station world.
The very talented and inspiring Doreen Driscoll has been running her own successful children’s educational centre.
Her Early Achievers Educational Centre launched 20 years ago and has evolved into Early Achievers Montessori School + Educational Centre with up to 30 staff members.
Doreen loved The Creation Station values and ethos and saw the experiences as a great fit for her growing business and for the children and families of New Foundland.
As well as in-centre activities they are providing Creation Station activities within schools and the local community.
With the support of her daughter, Jennifer and manager Sheri-Lyn, they have already filled classes and are creating a huge impact with their Creation Station franchise.
We are thrilled to welcome Doreen and her team to our family and support the awesome work they are doing.
Here’s Doreen’s story:
Creation Station launches in Canada
“I am a Primary Grade and Special Education teacher in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. I also have two Montessori Certifications for ages 0- 3 and 3-6 years.
I have always loved working with children hence my interest in furthering children’s development.
Over two decades ago, I started running my own small Reading Club business on the weekends while teaching full-time in the schools. I really enjoyed my time spent with children and helping them learn how to read.
As time went on, my passion for teaching reading branched out to Maths, Science, Art and more.
I developed a small part-time business and left teaching. This gave me the flexibility that I needed to look after my young family.
My business grew and I launched my ‘Early Achievers Educational Centre’. This started with a handful of children and two staff members.
Now, we have hundreds of children coming through our doors in our beautiful custom build facility designed for children.
Early Achievers Educational Centre was born 20 years ago and has now evolved to Early Achievers Montessori School + Educational Centre with up to 30 staff members. Our programs focus on supporting babies and children up to the age of twelve years.
We are forever exploring other opportunities to complement and enhance our current offerings and that’s why we decided to explore investing in our own Creation Station franchise.
Tell us more about your family and your support team
My wonderful husband Andrew has been very supportive in all that I do. He even built my buildings as my businesses grew.
My children Christina (24 years old) and Jennifer (23 years old) have been a huge part of my business’s success and development. They grew up at Early Achievers and have worked within the business over the years.
They are excited to be a part of The Creation Station and Jennifer has decided to work alongside me and my fabulous manager Sheri-Lynn. I an very fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
What were the barriers you had to overcome before you made the decision to invest?
The biggest decision for me was the timeline, I wanted to make sure we could get up and running in Canada.
I also wasn’t sure when if the activities would take off in our community. The Creation Station is a new concept in Canada. However, I knew the values aligned with my own and based on my twenty+ years of working with children, I felt the activities would be popular and beneficial for children and adults too.
What have you thought about the training and support you have received?
The training was online and tailored to our timings, so it was very accessible for Sheri Lyn and me.
The training was quite in-depth. Even though I’ve been running my business for a long time I learnt a lot. This has been really helpful with our launch and the running of our Creation Station business.
The support has been excellent. We have regular support calls with our Business Development Manager and have access to a wealth of activity plans, resources and marketing assets to use to help us deliver and grow our business. The Head office team are also on hand to support us with supplies and any questions we have.
The values The Creation Station show outwardly are the same that they operate their internal business relationships by too. The is a lot of care and support to help us achieve our potential too. It is a positive partnership.
