Sarah had been working as an EYFS Teaching Assistant for 15 years and was looking for a new challenge. She wanted something that would still enable her to work with children but would allow her to be in control of her working hours and spend as much time as possible with her family. She now runs award-winning, fun, creative art and craft classes, after-school clubs, parties and events for all ages in Sunbury-On-Thames.
Sarah is most definitely THE person to speak to for keeping your little ones creative and entertained!

Sarah has been growing her business over the last 5 years and successfully adapting and changing it to suit her own needs – including when she had another baby. She has so many fantastic plans and we can’t wait to see what the next 12 months brings for The Creation Station Sunbury-On-Thames. Well done Sarah!
Why did you want to run your own business?
“I wanted to make decisions for myself and work my own hours, running my own classes. I am passionate about children being able to express themselves in other ways rather than just English and Maths because all children have strengths in other ways that can’t be shown in a test.”
What attracted you to The Creation Station?
“The thought of setting up my own business seemed too difficult. The Creation Station has helped me so much with self belief and the security of having sessions plans, health and safety, support and all the social media resources provided for you is very reassuring.”
“My little girl was 4 years old at the time. She loved the session activities – her little face was so happy and you could see the enjoyment in her eyes. For me I know it was the right thing for me to be doing going forward.”
Describe your highlights so far…
“When I launched my after-school ‘Create Clubs’ I got a full club the first term and many of the children enjoyed being able to make their art work come to life using their own ideas and imaginations.”
“I love being involved in different events and meeting new children. I worked with the NCT to offer baby footprint art for Halloween and Easter. I’ve recently been working with a school for ‘Book Week’ to focus on imagination, creative writing, being illustrators and artists.”

How do you feel about the future?
“I will have been running my business for 5 years in May and am looking forward to growing my business even further. I am excited to be launching another after-school club and can’t wait to work with more schools to run creative art curriculum workshops.”
