Celebrating Children’s Art Week 2019!

From 8 – 16 June a fantastic event will be taking place across the UK encouraging families, children and young people to discover fun, creative activities in their local area.

Children’s Art Week is a programme run by Engage; the National Association for Gallery Education which provides schools, galleries, museum and community groups the opportunity to reach out to children and young people, along with their teachers, parents and carers and offer creative workshops for them to join in and enjoy.

“I had a lot of trouble with reading and writing at school, but found art as a great way to be understood and express myself. Children’s Art Week is about releasing the creative child in all of us. There are so many great venues (big and small) involved in creating a platform for this brilliant event. Together we can help empower kids with art and help them get their ninja on!”

Ricky Martin, CBBC’s Art Ninja, Creative Director at Aardman Animations, animator, actor and artist

During the week a wide range of practical, visual art activities will be taking place in locations such as libraries, community halls, country parks, heritage venues, museums and individual artists/makers workshops.
