About Alexis
Hi everyone, I’m Alexis and I run the Creation Station in Newcastle-under-Lyme. I’m also mum to two young children so I know just how important it is to find great local classes and events that are engaging, fun and stimulating but that also allow you, as the parent/carer, the chance to meet like-minded people and have a little fun yourself 😊.
Why I decided to run my own Creation Station… After years working in the food retail industry and feeling somewhat unfulfilled and a little like a ‘square peg in around hole’, I wanted to do something that I really enjoyed, something creative and something that I was passionate about. I’d also always wanted to run my own business so becoming a Creation Station franchisee made perfect sense.
What I did before I ran my own Creation Station… I was an Area Manager and a Buyer for a leading supermarket
What I love about running my own Creation Station… I love that my job now is all about inspiring creativity in adults and children. My role is to make sure that people have fun and leave a session or event feeling happy and proud of themselves. This is really rewarding and it’s great to see someone who started by saying ‘I’m not very arty/creative’ leave feeling super proud of what they’ve created. I also love the flexibility of being my own boss and being able to drive my business forward in the direction I choose.
Something you may not know about me… I love travelling and in 2007 completed a 7 month round the world trip with my now husband Jamie. We still love to travel and now own our own campervan (Colin) which we use to head off and explore new places each year.
My favourite joke… Why do people like talking to artists? Because they make good canvas-ation

My favourite food… I’m a bit of a foodie and love most foods but I definitely have a sweet tooth so would never turn down a good slice of chocolate cake. You can’t beat a good spaghetti Bolognaise either
