Fiona’s journey to The Creation Station is nothing short of inspiring—it's a transformation from the structured walls of a classroom to a world bursting with creativity and endless possibilities!
With an incredible 17 years in teaching, she’s been more than just a guide; she’s been a spark of encouragement for children across age groups, from Reception to Year 5, helping them think beyond the classroom and imagine a world where anything is possible.
In her classroom, Fiona didn’t just teach; she fostered a world of imagination. Her lessons were about more than textbooks; they were gateways to creativity, with students encouraged to embrace the thrill of creating and exploring.
Yet, over time, Fiona felt the constraints of the curriculum tightening. “I loved teaching, but the increasing workload began to feel like it was stifling children's creativity,” she shares.
It was a realisation that grew stronger each day—she wanted children to feel free to express themselves without limitations, to discover the joy in creativity, unrestrained and alive.
So, she made a courageous choice. Fiona stepped away from traditional teaching and leapt into The Creation Station, a place where creativity knows no bounds and every child’s imagination is celebrated!
Now, Fiona channels her passion into hands-on activities that empower young minds to think, create, and shine. Through every paintbrush stroke, every bit of glitter, and every big, bright idea, she’s giving children the chance to find their unique spark and let it glow.
Why The Creation Station?
Sometimes, all it takes is a spark from a friend to light the way. When Fiona heard a friend’s rave review of The Creation Station, she knew she had to see what it was all about—and the moment she did, it was love at first sight!
Here was a chance to blend her years of teaching with her boundless passion for creativity, opening up a whole new world for children to express themselves freely.
"As a teacher, I was always searching for ways to inspire kids, to spark their imaginations and ignite their curiosity," Fiona says. "The Creation Station felt like the perfect way to bring that vision to life!"
With her supportive partner Stephen by her side, along with his children Riley, Em, Bethany, their grandson Corey, and their two loyal pups, Fiona felt unstoppable. The warmth of family, the thrill of a new adventure, and the promise of creativity without limits gave her everything she needed to take the leap. Fiona's family helped her fund her creative journey as well as using savings.
Since her Discovery Morning, Fiona’s excitement has only grown. She’s now on a mission to bring creativity to life for kids (and adults!) in fresh and inspiring ways, proving that with a dash of imagination, there are no boundaries to what we can create together.
Building a Creative Community in Blackpool
With her creative spark blazing, Fiona is beyond excited to bring The Creation Station to families across FY4, South Shore, and the whole Blackpool area! From messy play sessions to exciting crafting workshops and bespoke events, she’s ready to sprinkle her creative magic across the community, filling it with vibrant, joy-filled experiences.
“I can’t wait to connect with local families, build lasting relationships, and give children the freedom to get messy, explore, and let their imaginations run wild!” she says with a bright smile, already imagining the laughter, splashes of paint, and sparkles of inspiration.
