Puppet show ’could inspire children’s art party ideas’
A children's puppet show is set to be performed at The Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis on Saturday March 13th at 3.30pm.
Oshima and the Big Sea will feature puppets, sea creatures and live ocean sounds and will be performed by Angel Heart Theatre company.
The play tells the story of Oshima, a fisherman who goes out to sea every day hoping to catch a big fish.
But his pet frog, Ito, is always playing tricks.
The puppets have all been made by the theatre company out of 'beach-combed' materials and other objects, such as pieces of polystyrene foam, shoe trees, bath sponges and old gloves.
Tickets to the performance cost £6 and are available online.
Parents working from home trying to think of children's art party ideas could try their hands at making puppets.
Simple sock puppets are easy to make and children may enjoy putting on their own shows with the puppets they have created from scratch.
