Mums working from home ’among those celebrated on International Women’s Day’

Mums working from home will be among those celebrated on Monday March 8th as part of International Women's Day.

Free events and activities are being planned all around the country, and Reading is one of the towns where celebrations will be held.

Fun activities for children could include face-painting and story-telling in dual languages at The Warehouse on Cumberland Road, at an event organised by Berkshire Women's Aid, East Reading Children's Centre and Safer Reading.

A workshop on Bollywood-style bhangra dancing has been planned, the Reading Post has reported.

Stalls could provide information on healthy eating to parents and Thames Valley police will be on hand to offer information and advice.

Mums working from home could treat themselves to a relaxing Indian head message at the event.

Bet Tickner, councillor for communities and neighbourhoods, said International Women's Day is a great opportunity for women to relax, enjoy themselves and try something new.

The creation activities are free for children and will run from 10am until 2.30pm. Lunch costs £2 for adults and 50p for children.ADNFCR-2563-ID-19654240-ADNFCR
