Cooking ’could be great creation activity for children’
Parents working from home could try cooking with their preschool children to introduce them to a range of different foods from other cultures.
A children's cookbook written by the author of the Dora the Explorer books aims to offer children new tastes through a 'virtual food tour' of America.
Cooking around the Country with Kids: USA Regional Recipes and Fun Activities, by Amy Houts, is available to buy online and could be an ideal creation activity for youngsters who want to cook up a storm.
The book takes readers through the different regions of America and starts with child-friendly food activities, giving parents almost 200 different recipes to try out with their little ones.
The recipes offer straightforward instructions for what children can do to help, along with a list of jobs which adults may prefer to carry out.
Ms Houts has written more than three dozen children's books and an award-winning cookbook called Cooking around the Calender with Kids: Holiday and Seasonal Food and Fun.
