Alice in Wonderland inspires children’s art party ideas

The new Alice in Wonderland film, which came out on Friday March 5th, is inspiring a lot of Alice-related children's art parties, not least among the royal family.

The Duchess of Cornwall read aloud from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland to primary school children last week during a Mad Hatter's tea party.

Arts and crafts party entertainers, dressed up as characters from the children's book written by Lewis Carroll, also appeared with her at a bookshop in Westfield shopping centre in London's Shepherds Bush.

The duchess read to dozens of schoolchildren about the moment Alice jumped down the hole after the white rabbit.

Lizzie Williams, a school teacher at Avondale Park primary school said: "The majority of our children don't tend to be brought to bookshops or libraries so days like this hopefully raise the profile of books and reading," the Press Association reported.

Parents working from home who are thinking of themes for their children's 'unbirthday' parties could consider throwing them an Alice-inspired arts and crafts tea party, complete with tea-pots, oversized playing cards and a range of unusual hats.ADNFCR-2563-ID-19655887-ADNFCR
